Tonight is our first real night in Boston (sans parents) and we are so excited! We have done a lot of walking, discovering, eating, and hugging the past few days and we are exhausted! Change is always tiring, but everything has fallen into place here and we love our new home.
We started our drive on Friday and it continued into Saturday morning until we finally arrived around 5:30 that night. To say our car was stuffed would be an understatement. We were packed in like sardines! We had 9 large vacuum-sealable bags, pillows, 2 plastic tubs, two book-bags, and every other little thing we needed that could fit into the crevices of my small car. It was a slightly claustrophobic ride, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting! Definitely worth it too cause we've already used the car a few times for groceries and Target runs.

My Mom switched with me so I wouldn't suffocate. Isn't she sweet!?
Saturday night we unpacked a little bit and then decided to walk around Cambridge, our new neighborhood, to grab some dinner. After we got home we finished unpacking and finally went to bed in our new place! We were lucky enough to find a house that had two bedrooms available for us to rent out so we took Lindy's and my parents used mine. We both love our rooms and feel so comfortable here! The house is absolutely gorgeous and exceeded my expectations. Each morning the walk to the metro will take about 12 minutes but there are a few coffee-shops along the way and it includes a pretty walk through Harvard's campus which is absolutely beautiful! I'm really looking forward to living here!

Anyway, Sunday morning our goal was to figure out where we would both be working and our daily commutes during the week, so we set out toward Harvard Square to take the T to our new stops. We stopped at Starbucks along the way (of course) and brought it along for the ride.Lindy's stop was first and the area she is working in is SO cute. It's snuggled down in Beacon Hill along cobblestone streets and surrounded by lots of cute shops, lunch spots. and bakeries. After checking our her new commute, we took the T train two stops further to my new building to check out my office. It wasn't open because it was a Sunday but it's a pretty big building in the middle of downtown and I think it's going to be a lot of fun! I'm so glad that we are near each other. We'll definitely be able to meet up for lunch during the week which will be fun!
My new stomping ground!
That afternoon we shopped, walked around, visited Faneiul Hall and grabbed a bite to eat outside before heading home to rest for a little bit. After we woke up, we freshened up and then went to eat at a place nearby called S&S Deli. We ordered soup (clam chowder) and sandwiches and really enjoyed it! We'll definitely be going back there. On the way home we picked up some coffee and cookies and then lounged around and watched the Kardashians to end the night.

This morning we woke up early again (our rooms don't have curtains so it's kind of hard to sleep in late...which will be a good thing during the week!) and went back to the area Lindy will be working in for breakfast. We ate at a DELICIOUS place called Cafe Vanille - iced caramel lattes, chocolate croissants, sausage egg and cheese croissant, cinnamon pastries. YUM! After that we went to Boston common where they had a beautiful array of flags out for memorial day and we just enjoyed the sunshine a little bit. Then we visited the MIT campus and walked along the water to see the view and sailboats passing by. It was absolutely gorgeous this weekend, we really lucked out! We headed back to Harvard Square afterward and ate lunch at a yummy Cajun Tex Mex place before heading home and sending our parents back down South.

We are so thankful for our amazing parents! We wouldn't be here without their love, support (especially financially) and constant encouragement. We'll miss them these next two months but we are already in love with the city. This is going to be a summer we'll never forget!
Tonight we're just going to relax, kick back, and watch The Bachelorette in our pajamas! Lindy starts her internship tomorrow (AH!) so I'm sure she'll be blogging soon to keep everyone updated with that!
Until then, love from Boston,
L&L
